This person has strong communication skills, an acute attention to detail and exceptional time management.
This position is responsible for supporting the accounting team and VP of Finance by performing the below duties and tasks independently, meeting required deadlines and being an innovative thinker.
Role Responsibilities: Staff Accountant Duties · Prepare and enter Journal Entries throughout the month and at month-end.
· Prepare monthly Accruals.
· Own monthly reconciliation process – prepare reconciliations, compile reconciliations prepared by others, ensure complete and timely submission, and reviewing for completeness and accuracy to hand off to the VP of Finance for final review.
· Manage all Fixed Assets activity with the locations, be first line of communication for 3rd party reporting firm and book all related entries to general ledger.
· Provide support to 3rd party tax preparer for all property taxes and any other required tax filing that may arise.
· Maintain Leases for Trucks and Buildings – monitoring lease terms, lease payment changes, and providing all information necessary for audits and reviews.
· Assist with preparation of weekly Cash Flow Projections.
· Assist with preparation of monthly Financial Reports such as Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cashflows.
· Support Operations Managers by providing analysis of spend within critical areas of the business.
· Monitor and provide feedback on Inventory Cycle Counts.
· Prepare financial reports to submit to the bank for monthly compliance.
· Prepare and provide reports to external audit firm, bank reviewers or bank appraisal company with regards to annual audits.
· Cross-train with Inventory Accountant to provide support and backfill in times of vacations.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: · Strong data analysis skills utilizing different platforms such as excel or other business analytic programs.
· Above average Excel proficiency.
· Strong communications skills and willingness to communicate with those outside the department.
· Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize efficiently.
· Strong attention to details.
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
