Duties and Responsibilities · Assist with monthly closing activities to ensure that financial statements and general ledgers are closed timely and accurately · Prepare & review various month end journal entries & reconciliations in accordance with policies and timelines · Review of Accounts Payable vouchers for proper submittal of payments · Assist with preparation of monthly & quarterly reporting packages and various operational analytics · Assist with performance of various SOX compliance procedures · Support internal and external audits as needed · P-Card applications · Assist with standard of current cost data as required · Assist with inventory analytical review, Cost of Sales analysis, and other manufacturing expense assessments to drive operational performance and profitability improvements.
· Assist with physical inventories and recurring cycle counting activities.
· Other finance and accounting related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Strong background in an internal control environment including SOX compliance · Superior written and oral communication skills · Knowledge of PC spreadsheets, word processing and data base applications (Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point preferred) · Overall comprehensive understanding of business processes, with manufacturing experience preferred · Highly motivated, self-starter with good analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently Education and Experience · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, with 2+ years of related experience · Strong background in an internal control environment including SOX compliance · Experience with inventory costing and control activities in a manufacturing/industrial environment preferred · Experience with ERP application a plus · Experience with SOX controls compliance a plus · Certified Public Accountant Preferred but not required Myers Industries, Inc.
