A great UHY client is seeking an *Assistant Controller* to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have 3 – 5 years of general ledger experience, a solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles, advanced excel experience, and an ability to automate processes.
The *Assistant Controller* role is an onsite position.
*Assistant Controller General Responsibilities: *
* Month-end close and other accounting activities
* General accounting such as fixed assets, pre-paid, accruals
* Various financial analysis
* Account Reconciliations and journal entries
* General Ledger processing
* Chart of Accounts Maintenance
* Assist with annual review process and interaction with the external auditors
* Assist with budgets/forecasting and annual planning processes
* Regular communication and interaction with all levels of management regarding financial matters
* Process improvement and automation
* Other accounting/finance duties as assigned
*Assistant Controller Qualifications:*
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
* 5+ years general accounting experience required
* Experience in a supervisory/management position an asset
* Thorough understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
* Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers, and accounting
* Advanced excel skills
* Experience with accounting process automation
* Very strong teamwork and collaboration skills
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work on site in Buchanan MI 5 days per week
* Self-motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completion
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organizational skills
* Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
* Excellent attention to detail and precision with numbers
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask
* Ability to work with, and maintain, strong confidentiality
