What You'll Do:
As the Accounting Specialist you will review, plan, validate and handle the general accounting activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting that will support the achievement of financial goals.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
Reviews and posts journal entries in the system ensuring accuracy; supports AP & handles the AR for the company.
Reconciles journal entries and general ledger activities to ensure validation.
Reviews payroll processing, ensuring complete, on-time and compliant processing.
Provides reporting to the management team ensuring accurate and on-time delivery of financials.
Analyzes accounting data to discover, understand, and resolve obstacles.
Position Requirements:
Education: HS Diploma or equivalent (Advanced opportunities for candidates holding a Bachelor's in Accounting)
Experience: 2+ years of general accounting experience; with solid experience in payables and payroll.
Certification(s): CPA not required (Advanced opportunities for candidates holding a CPA)
Functional Skills: Excellent planning, organization, and executing skills; strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking; direct experience in moving from project to project, priority to priority on a daily basis; excellent thoroughness, attention to detail, with the ability to work well within tight due dates.
Technology Aptitude/Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (i.
e.
, QuickBooks, SAGE 50, SAGE 100 etc.
) and Excel and Word.
Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Leadership/Behaviors: Must be forward-thinking, customer-focused, process/project driven.
Requires strong relationship-building and collaboration, who is also a team player and approachable.
Also requires someone who is life-long learner, compliance-oriented and self-directed.
Flexibility and adaptability are also important to meet the needs of the clients.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise and is negotiable.

Reports To: Partner - Tax Services
Core Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00pm; flexibility within these core hours to meet the job requirements.
Typical Work Week: M-F during heavy season; 3 - 4 days a week during off season (can work 16 - 40 hours during this timeframe)
