SUMMARY
Support and assist in maintaining the accuracy of the cost and inventory systems/data which support the business.
The position will also utilize their accounting knowledge to train and support the leaders of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Perform analyses and maintain the inputs into the pricing/estimating system
2.
Document and train users of the estimating system on how various cost categories are affected by volumes and manufacturing processes
3.
Maintain the overall cost model and update as necessary
4.
Report, analyze and provide continuous improvement suggestions on inventory management
5.
Maintain key initiative metrics which optimize the amount of inventory kept in the business
6.
Key contributor to the month end process focusing on inventory valuation and margin analysis
7.
Maintain inventory reconciliations, coordinate physical inventories and respond to audit request
8.
Perform ongoing analyses and assist in recommendations to the business owners concerning customer profitability
9.
Analyze and lead the business in reducing waste and other key operational metrics
10.
Exercise independent judgment prioritize tasks and collaborate cross-functionally across a complex program against deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
• Knowledge of accounting procedures and practices, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Two (2) to Five (5) years prior experience preferred
• Exceptional organizational, analytical and communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and leadership skills
• Internal and external customer focus
• Computer literacy with the Company database systems and Windows applications.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to travel to various Welch companies as needed, up to 10% of the time.

May include lifting to 25 pounds for files, computer, printers on occasion.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses, Shoes and mandatory hearing protection.
Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
