Divisions of Patrick Industries, located in Greater-Elkhart area are hiring Senior Staff Accountants with prior experience in operations to join our team.
The Accountant must have the capability to manage standard accounting practices for multi-site operations and have strong leadership qualities.
Responsibilities:
The Accountant will be responsible for the oversight, leadership and coordination of accounting, financial reporting, financial management, business management and budgeting efforts as it relates to the operation of facilities growing operation.
Essential job functions will include:
* Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures and internal controls
* Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors
* Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and recommending plans to Business Unit Leaders
* Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
* Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
* Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
* Monthly financial reporting timely
* Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
* Maintain the chart of accounts
* Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
* Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
* Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
* Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to the Corporate Office
* Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
* Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
* Payroll functions
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
* Candidates should have 5+ years’ of progressively responsible experience
* Prior experience in Operations/Distribution is highly desired
* Experience to include general understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act is desired
* Understanding of GAAP is mandatory
* Costing experience highly desired
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in terms of being clear, concise, and professional with the ability to work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior management
* Ability to quickly adapt communications in a variety of settings to meet the unique needs of multiple audiences
* Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently with little to no oversight
* Strong accountability and follow-through skills
* Ability and desire to train and coach others to improve performance
* Strong analytical/critical thinking
* A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities
