Administration Department FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: VP of Finance & Administration Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm but may vary depending on departmental needs.
Salary Range: $68,000-$76,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Position Summary The primary role is to support executive team decision-making by collecting and analyzing various financial and statistical information, researching company and industry trends, and making recommendations to senior management.
The successful candidate will work with other departments on budget development and management, as well as the accounting team on accounting policies and practices, and assists with the preparation of the annual financial report, and independent audit, and also performs some ongoing accounting duties.
Duties of Position Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to: ✈ Prepare various financial and statistical reports and analyses.
✈ Assist with preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and facilitate input from other departments.
✈ Assist with year-end close, annual financial report preparation and audit.
✈ Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
✈ Prepare cash flow analysis and forecast.
✈ Provide fiscal management of grants from various governmental sources.
✈ Process budget transfers and budget adjustments in cooperation with other departments.
✈ Provide budget guidance to other departments and assist with ongoing budget management for the organization.
✈ Review requisitions for technical accuracy and issue purchase orders.
✈ Make recommendations on financial policies and practices, and research and evaluate tools to support accounting and financial functions.
✈ Assist with other accounting and financial tasks as needed, including but not limited to: o Bank reconciliation, o Capital asset management, o Billing and accounts receivable processing, o Review of internal control effectiveness and compliance.
✈ Complete Special Projects as assigned including Customer service team as Dedicated Customer Care Specialist.
✈ Perform any other duties as may be assigned to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the airport.
Minimum Qualifications / Functional Requirements ✈ Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting, or equivalent desired, with specialized training in budgeting, analysis, reporting, accounting / general ledger software, including accounting software and spreadsheets, strongly preferred.
✈ Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in accounting or finance position.
Government and fund accounting experience highly preferred.
✈ Must obtain and maintain valid Driver’s License.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ✈ Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel or other spreadsheets required, and familiarity with accounting software is expected.
✈ Knowledge of problem-solving techniques, the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment, to organize and prioritize, to maintain confidentiality, to maintain accurate and complete records, and to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines.
✈ Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, be able to listen and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to interact with a variety of personalities.
✈ Ability to maintain knowledge associated with federal, state, and local requirements pertinent to the position.
✈ Ability to maintain knowledge of GAAP, GASB, GFOA and other State, Federal and Industry directives and changes.
Work Environment Work is mainly performed in an office setting, with moderate inside temperatures.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Entire office is smoke free.
Occasional outside work may be required, which may include exposure to extreme weather conditions and moderate to loud noise levels.
Physical Requirements ✈ Work is frequently performed in a standard office environment as well as occasional periods of time outdoors.
✈ Exposure to dust, grease, excessive noise or vibration, noxious gas or fumes and/or extreme outdoor weather conditions may be occasionally expected.
✈ Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to fifteen pounds.
✈ Position requires frequent reaching with hands and arms, standing, and walking.
✈ Ability to occasionally climb, kneel, crouch, bend, and crawl are required.
✈ Ability to sit for constant periods of time.
✈ Vision abilities required include close, distant, color peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
✈ Work performed requires the ability to speak and hear.
✈ Position is required to rarely drive Authority vehicles on Airport grounds and public highways.
