Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for training of all Food & Beverage Banquet Captains, Banquet Servers, Cashiers, and Bartenders to ensure high quality, efficient, accurate and profitable food service.
Supervises all employees in the preparation and service of food and refreshments according to the Banquet Event Order, including clean-up at event conclusion.
Responsible for developing work plans including scheduling, ordering, and assigns appropriate duties to subordinates.
Oversees Food & Beverage operations during event to ensure client satisfaction and quality control standards.
Addresses complaints & resolves issues which may arise.
Inspects food service areas to ensure requirements of state and local health laws and internal regulations are met.
Works with Director of Food & Beverage to forecast and execute labor allocations based on event requirements and budget.
Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, with Century Center’s personal policies and procedures.
Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data storage system, and ensuring expiring product is returned within time frame required for full credit.
Assists with analysis of information concerning facility operation such as daily food sales, patron attendance, and labor costs to prepare budget and maintain cost control of facility operations.
Work with vendors on purchasing food, beverages, disposable supplies according to anticipated demand and familiarity with public taste in food and beverage.
Works within guidelines for food and labor costs.
Supervisory Responsibilities Manages Food & Beverage Department employees in Catering, Concessions, and Bar Services.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of each employee and of the unit.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SAVOR’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include: Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
Planning, assigning, and directing work.
Appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources.
Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Supervising staff to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workplace.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Very early morning shifts and late evening shifts required.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Food & Beverage Management or related field preferred Minimum 3 years’ experience in management level position in Food & Beverage (Bar Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Banquet Captain) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities Excellent organizational and planning skills Strong customer service orientation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High level of maturity with ability to lead and teach.
Conflict management skills Strong leadership skills, particularly the ability to stay ahead of an event timeline and keep a large team working quickly.
Ability to create a kind, supportive, happy work environment where all employees feel valued.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software with reasonable typing skills.
Other Qualifications This position will work with limited supervision and will require the ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management.
Requires ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
