Job Title: Tool & Die Job Description
Reports to: Department Supervisor at specific Business Unit
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Schedule: Monday through Friday.
Overtime as needed.
Summary of duties and responsibilities:
Be able to use appropriate equipment such as a surface Grinder, wire EDM, RO Grinders, and equipment to create and match tooling to match part drawings.
Proper equipment allows the ability to create angles and radius on all tooling to create a high-quality part.
These duties are performed with quality and production standards.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Read blueprints and use necessary measuring devices to make, or modify existing tooling, tools for old or new jobs.
Build dies; weld fixtures and misc.
using supplied prints as well as bench design.
Make sure tools are sharpened and tool holders in good working condition before being placed back on shelf or in tool drawers.
Repair, or requisition, replacement parts, tools or hardware as needed to maintain stock.
Set-up and operate all tool room machines for specific form tool, tap, drills, or holder for grinder.
Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:
Must have working knowledge of quality inspection gauges and measurement tools.
Must be able to accurately complete all required Modineer production system documentation such as production reports, inspection reports, etc.
Forklift experience is a plus
Experience operating manual lathe, mill, grinder and cut-off saw required.
Experience running CNC lathe and mill preferred
CAD design experience preferred
Must be able to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
Journeyman Tool & Die Maker / Repair preferred
Physical environment/working conditions:
The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
