*Summary/Objective:*
The supervisor directs manufacturing operations through development, execution, and continuous improvement of lean strategies to exceed metrics in People, Safety, Quality, Productivity and Delivery.
The position ensures increasing levels of customer satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, and machines.
The operations manager oversees all areas of manufacturing to produce products and direct activities to exceed customer expectations while enhancing quality standards and cost objectives.
Coordinate customer needs with operations, material planning and commercial management.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
1.
Manages policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, quality systems and plant performance measures.
2.
Preferable experience in leveling, slitting, shearing, shipping and packaging.
3.
Manage costs, scheduling and quality metrics of the operating units.
4.
Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
5.
Provides leadership for problem resolution.
6.
Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, on-time delivery.
7.
Balances work cell capacity/loading across the plant.
8.
Understand the functionality of maintenance and maintenance planning.
9.
Determines operations head count needs and ensures compliance with company policies.
10.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
11.
Must have strong verbal and written skills.
12.
Assist with the management of the Pre-loaders.
13.
Administer CI projects to develop efficiencies to achieve truck loading performance goals.
14.
Consolidate loads to maximize efficiency with the loading of trucks.
*Supervisory Responsibility:*
This position manages all employees of the packaging operation and facilitates the shipping process.
Responsible for the leadership of the employees within their department.
