Join a cutting edge company, changing the landscape in our corner of rural America The Opportunity As an MEC Journeyman Lineman, you will perform a variety of skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of MEC's electric distribution and fiber communications system.
The work will involve operating, constructing and maintaining overhead and underground electric and fiber equipment.
You will make recommendations to the lineman in charge and communicate in a positive matter with members and co-workers.
This position is subject to additional after-hours work and all other duties as assigned.
Key responsibilities include: Constructing, repairing and maintaining overhead and underground electric distribution and fiber equipment Performing maintenance in substations and on transmission lines.
Perform service work as needed Various customer service duties including voltage testing, troubleshooting outages, making service changes, performing disconnects/reconnects and MISS Dig locates for electric and fiber.
Maintaining electric line right-of-way clearance by removing trees and brush and mowing Ignite your Career You must have a high school diploma or GED and have successfully completed an electric lineman apprenticeship training program.
You must have a working knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code and OSHA Regulations.
You must have already obtained a Class A CDL with a valid medical card and air brake endorsement.
You must be able to obtain a thorough understanding of RUS specifications.
