We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Die Maintenance Technician to join our team.
As a Die Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining dies used in the manufacturing process.
Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the overall efficiency and quality of our operations.
Responsibilities:
Inspect dies for any signs of wear, damage, or malfunctions.
Disassemble, clean, and repair dies as needed, ensuring proper functionality.
Sharpen or replace worn or damaged die components, such as punches, inserts, and ejector pins.
Measure, align, and assemble die components accurately to ensure proper fit and alignment.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to die performance, such as sticking, misalignment, or irregularities in produced parts.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to understand die requirements and optimize performance.
Maintain detailed records of die maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and adjustments made.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of dies on a regular basis.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide recommendations to enhance die performance and longevity.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements/Preferences:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in die maintenance or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of die components and their functions.
Proficient in using machine tools, grinders, mills, and lathe for disassembling, repairing, and assembling dies.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of die sharpening techniques and equipment.
Familiarity with die casting and stamping.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain precision in die maintenance tasks.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with different teams and relay information accurately.
Good organizational and time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Have working knowledge of stamping presses and feeds.
Able to remove tool during production, make repairs, and replace tool in press.
